At First Guaranty Bank, we work hard to make sure you and your accounts stay safe from online fraud.

Online fraudsters can seek you out anywhere and are constantly devising new ways to scam you and your loved ones. Use the following best practices to help you take preventive action to immediately protect your information.

Young Woman on Laptop and Phone

  • Change Your Passwords
    • Change your passwords every 30 to 60 days and consider using multi-factor authentication when you can.

  • Activate notifications/alerts for bank accounts, credit cards, etc.
  • Continuously monitor your credit report and bank accounts with these FGB services.
  • Remain cautious when receiving phone calls from unknown numbers/people, emails, etc.
    • REMEMBER: FGB will never call and ask you for personal or account information.

  • Protect your tax refund and returns with the IRS.
    • Request an “Identity Protection Pin” by calling 1-800-829-1040 or by going online.
    • Check Social Security Benefits – if you receive, are eligible for, or have applied for benefits, consider registering for a ssa.gov account here.
