Scammers are up to their old tricks again and even back with some new ones. They use fake text messages, emails, or calls to try and steal your money. Avoiding their schemes may seem like a daunting task, but here are three simple ways you can avoid being a victim of fraud:

Scam Call by Hacker on Phone

1. Activate Alerts for Bank Accounts and Credit Cards

Set up alerts for your bank accounts and credit cards to receive notifications for any suspicious activity. That way, you can quickly identify and respond to unauthorized transactions. Additionally, if you’re an FGB customer, you can download SecurLock to lock and unlock your cards from anywhere. Click here to learn more about SecurLock.

Remember, if you have a question about your FGB account, call our Customer Support Center can be reached directly at 888-375-3093.

2. Use Two-Factor Authentication + Change Your Passwords Often

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your online accounts. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as a code sent to your phone, in addition to your password. And when it comes to passwords, change them often!

3. Do Not Answer Suspicious Calls/Texts/Emails

If you get a suspicious call or text, do not answer, call back, or click any links. Instead, verify through official channels. Remember: our website URL is www.fgb.net and you should only log in to online banking through our website or official app.

By staying proactive and regularly monitoring your accounts, you can avoid many common scams and keep your money, accounts, and personal information safe.
