ATM Safety Tips
It is important to protect yourself and your money when visiting any bank ATM in today’s fast-paced world. No matter where you are, you can use the following tips to help protect yourself and your money on your next trip to the ATM.
Tip #1: Treat your ATM/debit card like cash.
Don’t leave your debit card out and store it in a safe place. If you think your card is lost or stolen, contact your bank as soon as possible. Make sure to also keep your PIN # private. Never write your PIN # on your card or share it with anyone, even family members.
Tip #2: Be aware of your surroundings.
Choose an ATM that’s well lit, in a public area. If the location or people around it look suspicious, plan your transaction for a different time.
Tip #3: Check for tampering.
Before using an ATM, check the machine for tampering. Look for anything that looks off: mismatched materials, colors, or graphics.
By following these tips, you can help protect your financial well-being with peace of mind. And remember, if you have any issues before, during, or after your transaction report it to your bank.
