Owner of Family Healthcare of Bedico & Twenty-Two Aesthetics

Driving the back roads between Ponchatoula and Bedico, you’ll find Family Healthcare of Bedico and Twenty-Two Aesthetics. Two businesses with a simple, but powerful mission: to help people feel their best and ensure quality, accessible healthcare close to home.

For Kristen King, serving her community isn’t just a career, it’s personal.

As a lifelong resident of Tangipahoa Parish, Kristen and her husband Travis, are now raising their sons, Wyatt and Beckham, in the same community that helped shape them.

"Being able to serve the people who helped shape us makes what I do even more meaningful," she said.

Kristen’s passion for helping others led her to establish Family Healthcare of Bedico, a rural primary care clinic focused on bridging healthcare gaps and providing personalized care to local families. In addition to her primary care clinic, she also works with North Oaks Cardiology and teaches future nurse practitioners at the University of South Alabama.

Through conversations with patients, Kristen recognized a growing desire for wellness and aesthetic services grounded in real medical expertise. That realization inspired the creation of Twenty-Two Aesthetics, where she and her team take an evidence-based, functional approach to aesthetics and wellness.

"We want our patients to feel like they have a provider who truly listens and is invested in their health," Kristen explained.

Healthcare wasn't always the path Kristen imagined for herself. As a child, she was certain she would become a veterinarian and follow in her father's footsteps.

"Thankfully for the animals, I ended up taking care of people instead!" she joked.

Her desire to care for others eventually led her to nursing, a profession she says felt like a natural fit. Through Southeastern Louisiana University's nursing program, she was able to stay close to home, build her career locally, and ultimately give back to the community that invested in her.

And when it came time to grow her own businesses, choosing First Guaranty Bank was an easy decision.

"My mom worked at First Guaranty Bank when I was little, and our family banked there for years," she said. "So when it came time to grow my own businesses, choosing FGB felt like coming home."

Looking ahead, Kristen is excited to continue growing her businesses while maintaining the personal connections that have been at the heart of her success from the beginning. She also hopes to keep mentoring future nurse practitioners and finding new ways to give back to the community she loves.

And when she's not caring for patients, teaching students, or running a business?

She’s likely tending to her garden, spending time down the river, making homemade ice cream, coaching little league, or enjoying the outdoors with her family. 

But one thing you probably won't find her doing? Eating bacon bits.

"Real bacon? Maybe. Bacon bits? Hard pass."

As Kristen continues making a difference through healthcare, education, and community service, she's a wonderful example of what can happen when passion, purpose, and local support come together to create something meaningful.
